Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nupezyme is a digestive enzyme formulation containing diastase (amylase) and pepsin. Developed and marketed by Jain Pharmaceuticals, it is available as an oral syrup and tablets. Nupezyme is primarily indicated for the treatment of digestive disorders, indigestion (dyspepsia), flatulence, bloating, and loss of appetite. Diastase is a starch-hydrolyzing enzyme that breaks down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars, while pepsin is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks down dietary proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. Together, these enzymes supplement the body's natural digestive processes, improving nutrient absorption and relieving post-meal abdominal discomfort.
