Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anglogesic Plus is a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel developed by Anglo-French Drugs & Industries. It is formulated as a combination of diclofenac, linseed oil, menthol, and methyl salicylate. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate act as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and inflammation. Menthol acts as a cooling agent by stimulating TRPM8 receptors, providing a soothing sensation and local anesthetic effect. Linseed oil contributes anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe skin irritation. Anglogesic Plus is indicated for the rapid relief of pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, sprains, strains, and joint stiffness.
