Overview

Miofedrol Relex is a fixed-dose combination of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) diclofenac sodium and the centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant orphenadrine citrate. Developed by Sanjivani Parenteral, it is formulated as an injection for intramuscular or intravenous administration. Diclofenac acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and inflammation. Orphenadrine acts as an antagonist at histamine H1, muscarinic acetylcholine, and NMDA receptors, providing muscle relaxation and central analgesic effects. Miofedrol Relex is approved and marketed for the treatment of acute pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders.
