Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flectoparin Tissugel is a topical medicated plaster (transdermal patch) developed by IBSA Institut Biochimique SA for the local treatment of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. It contains a combination of diclofenac epolamine (DHEP), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and heparin, a sulfated glycosaminoglycan. Diclofenac provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and reducing prostaglandin biosynthesis. Heparin acts as an anticoagulant and anti-edematous agent, helping to reduce bruising and swelling at the site of injury. The product is specifically indicated for conditions such as sprains, strains, and contusions accompanied by hematoma or edema.
