Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of diclofenac potassium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and acetaminophen (paracetamol), a non-NSAID pain reliever. This combination leverages two different mechanisms of action for pain relief. Diclofenac potassium works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis which leads to decreased pain and inflammation. Acetaminophen's exact mechanism is not fully understood but is thought to work centrally on pain pathways. This combination may provide enhanced pain relief for various conditions including musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, menstrual cramps, and migraines.
