Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pain Aid Plus is a combination analgesic product developed and marketed by Scotmann Pharmaceuticals. It contains two active ingredients: diclofenac sodium and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that functions by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever, and inflammation. Paracetamol acts as a complementary analgesic and antipyretic, primarily through central nervous system pathways. This combination is indicated for the relief of acute pain and the management of chronic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is typically administered orally in tablet form.
