Overview

ADORTA-MF is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing dicycloverine (also known as dicyclomine) and mefenamic acid. Dicycloverine is an antispasmodic agent that acts as a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist, effectively reducing smooth muscle contractions in the gastrointestinal and uterine tracts. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) belonging to the fenamate class; it works by inhibiting the enzymes cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. This combination is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of spasmodic pain associated with conditions such as biliary colic, intestinal colic, and primary dysmenorrhea. It is developed and marketed by Adorshea Bioceutics.
