Overview

This is a combination of two drugs, digoxin and etanercept. Digoxin is a cardiac glycoside used primarily for the treatment of various heart conditions, including atrial fibrillation and heart failure. It works by inhibiting the sodium-potassium ATPase pump, leading to increased intracellular calcium in cardiac cells and improved contractility. Etanercept is a recombinant fusion protein that acts as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor; it binds to TNF-α and blocks its interaction with cell surface TNF receptors, thereby reducing inflammation. Etanercept is indicated for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis. There are no clinically significant pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic interactions between these two drugs when coadministered; both can be safely used together without dosage adjustment[1][2][6].
