Overview

Dimenhydrinate + pyridoxine is a combination drug composed of two active ingredients: dimenhydrinate and pyridoxine. Dimenhydrinate acts primarily as an antihistamine, antagonizing the histamine H1 receptor to reduce nausea, vomiting, and vertigo. Its antiemetic activity is attributed to diphenhydramine (an H1 antagonist with antimuscarinic properties), and it is frequently used for motion sickness and vestibular disorders[1]. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin important for neurotransmitter synthesis and nerve function, and it exhibits anti-nausea effects frequently utilized for the management of nausea and vomiting, especially in early pregnancy[9]. The primary indication for this combination is the symptomatic treatment of nausea and vomiting (including morning sickness during pregnancy), vestibular disorders (e.g., vertigo, labyrinthine disorders), and motion sickness[1][9]. The combination leverages both the neuropharmacological effects of dimenhydrinate and the nutritional supplementation role of pyridoxine, which together target different pathways involved in nausea.
