Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Finescar is a topical skin protectant developed and marketed by Instituto Biológico Argentino (Biol). Its active ingredient is dimethicone (silicone oil), which acts as a hydrophobic barrier on the skin. When applied as an aerosol spray, it forms a fine protective film that shields the skin from moisture and irritants (such as urine, sweat, and friction) while allowing normal skin respiration. Finescar is primarily indicated for the prevention and early-stage treatment of pressure ulcers (decubitus ulcers or bedsores) in bedridden or immobilized patients.
