Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Veridin is an oral phlebotonic and vasoprotective agent developed and marketed by Meprofarm. It is formulated as a film-coated tablet containing 500 mg of a micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF) extracted from *Citrus sinensis* (sweet orange), consisting of 90% diosmin (450 mg) and 10% hesperidin (50 mg). Veridin is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), varicose veins, and both acute and chronic hemorrhoidal disease. The active bioflavonoids work synergistically to improve venous tone by prolonging the vasoconstrictive activity of norepinephrine on the venous wall, reducing venous capacitance and stasis. Additionally, Veridin normalizes capillary permeability, increases capillary resistance to prevent microvascular leakage, and enhances lymphatic drainage to alleviate edema, pain, and heaviness in the lower limbs.
