A combination product containing **diosmin**, **troxerutin**, and **hesperidin** is a mixture of three flavonoids used primarily for the management of acute hemorrhoidal disease and symptoms of venous insufficiency. All three components are vasoprotective flavonoids: - **Diosmin** is a semisynthetic flavonoid that primarily prolongs the vasoconstrictor effect of norepinephrine on the venous wall, leading to decreased capillary permeability and increased venous tone. - **Troxerutin** is a hydroxyethyl derivative of rutin (classified as a flavonol), exerting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and venotonic effects—stabilizing capillary permeability and improving microcirculation. - **Hesperidin** is a citrus flavonoid glycoside with vasoprotective and anti-inflammatory activities, often acting synergistically with diosmin. The combination acts by reducing venous stasis, edema, pain, and bleeding associated with hemorrhoids and other chronic venous disorders. Its mechanism involves enhancement of vein tone, reduction of vascular permeability, improvement of lymphatic drainage, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has demonstrated safety and efficacy in randomized controlled trials in acute hemorrhoidal disease and has also been studied for symptoms associated with pelvic congestion syndrome[1][2].
