This drug is a combination vaccine (DTaP-IPV) designed to provide active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis. It contains toxoids of diphtheria and tetanus, acellular components of *Bordetella pertussis* (typically pertussis toxoid and filamentous hemagglutinin), and inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 (Mahoney, MEF-1, and Saukett strains). The vaccine works by inducing the production of specific antibodies against the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, the antigens of *Bordetella pertussis*, and the three types of poliovirus, thereby providing protection against the respective diseases. It is primarily used for primary vaccination in infants and as a booster dose in young children and pregnant women.
