Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tedivax-Adult is a bivalent vaccine containing purified diphtheria and tetanus toxoids adsorbed onto aluminum salts. It is indicated for active immunization against diphtheria and tetanus in individuals aged 7 years and older. The Adult (Td) formulation contains a reduced amount of diphtheria toxoid compared to pediatric (DT) vaccines to minimize the risk of adverse reactions in older populations who may have been previously sensitized. Developed by GSK, it is used both as a primary series component and as a booster dose every 10 years. In clinical research, it frequently serves as a reference control for evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of newer combination vaccines, such as those including acellular pertussis (Tdap).
