Overview
DTaP + HepB + Hib is a pentavalent combination vaccine developed by SPA Microgen, a subsidiary of Nacimbio (Rostec). It is the first Russian-produced pentavalent vaccine designed to protect infants against five major childhood diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) infections. The vaccine formulation includes diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens, recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen, and Hib capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein. By integrating these five components into a single injection, the vaccine simplifies the immunization schedule, reduces the number of injections required, and improves compliance. It was developed as a domestic alternative to imported pentavalent vaccines like Pentaxim to ensure national vaccine security in Russia.
