This quadrivalent combination vaccine is designed to provide active immunity against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis. Developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, it is notable for being the first combination vaccine in China to utilize inactivated poliovirus strains derived from Sabin strains (sIPV) rather than the traditional Salk strains. The vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids to neutralize bacterial toxins, acellular pertussis antigens (typically pertussis toxoid and filamentous hemagglutinin) to protect against *Bordetella pertussis*, and inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 to prevent polio infection. It is primarily indicated for the primary immunization and booster series in infants and young children, offering a more convenient dosing schedule by combining four essential pediatric vaccines into a single injection.
