Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination refers to the concomitant administration of Sanofi's quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACYW-TT, brand name MenQuadfi) and their pentavalent pediatric vaccine (DTaP-IPV-Hib, brand name Pentaxim or Pentavac). MenQuadfi is a conjugate vaccine containing capsular polysaccharides from Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135, each covalently linked to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. It is indicated for active immunization to prevent invasive meningococcal disease. Pentaxim is a combination vaccine that provides protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b. The co-administration of these vaccines is a standard practice in pediatric immunization schedules and has been extensively studied in clinical trials (e.g., MET33, MET57) to confirm that the safety and immunogenicity of each component are maintained when given at the same visit.
