Dispersin B + benzoyl peroxide is a combination therapy comprising **dispersin B**, an enzyme that degrades the biofilm exopolysaccharide poly-N-acetylglucosamine (PNAG), and **benzoyl peroxide**, a widely used topical oxidizing agent for acne. Dispersin B increases the susceptibility of Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) biofilms to benzoyl peroxide by breaking down protective PNAG, allowing benzoyl peroxide to more effectively penetrate and eradicate the bacteria. This combination has demonstrated *synergistic efficacy* in vitro against dual-species biofilms of C. acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, which are implicated in the persistence and treatment resistance of acne vulgaris.
