Dithranol + fluocinonide is a topical combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis. Dithranol (also known as anthralin) is an anthracene derivative that impairs DNA replication and decreases cell division, leading to reduced proliferation of keratinocytes in psoriatic plaques[3][7]. Fluocinonide is a potent synthetic corticosteroid that acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by activating glucocorticoid receptors, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and itching associated with inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis[4][8][10].
