Overview

A combination therapy used for treating psoriasis. Dithranol (anthralin) is an anthracene derivative that works by interfering with mitochondrial function, reducing DNA replication and keratinocyte proliferation, preventing T-cell activation, and restoring cell differentiation. Mometasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that works by preventing inflammation. When used together (mometasone in the morning, dithranol in the evening), this combination has shown significantly faster reduction of psoriasis symptoms compared to dithranol monotherapy or calcipotriol/dithranol combination in the first week of treatment.
