Overview

**dmLT** is a recombinant detoxified *enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli* heat-labile enterotoxin protein toxoid carrying the A-subunit mutations R192G and L211A. It is an AB5 mucosal vaccine adjuvant designed to retain the immune-enhancing properties of native heat-labile toxin while substantially reducing enterotoxicity. In PATH's completed Phase 1 polio study, dmLT was co-administered intramuscularly with inactivated poliovirus vaccine to assess whether it could improve systemic and intestinal mucosal immunity and reduce poliovirus shedding after bivalent oral poliovirus vaccine challenge. dmLT is not an approved standalone product.
