Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen comprising docetaxel, an anthracycline (such as doxorubicin or epirubicin), and cyclophosphamide. This regimen, commonly referred to as TAC or TEC, is a standard-of-care treatment for breast cancer, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Docetaxel is a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, inhibiting cell division. Anthracyclines act by intercalating into DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, while cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that cross-links DNA strands. The Affiliated Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital is utilizing this regimen in an observational study to investigate the characteristics of senescent T lymphocytes and their relationship with neoadjuvant chemotherapy efficacy in young TNBC patients.
