**Docetaxel + cisplatin + fluorouracil** is a three-agent intravenous induction chemotherapy regimen, commonly called **TPF**, evaluated by Cancer Hospital of Guangxi Medical University for locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma before concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Docetaxel disrupts the microtubule network required for cellular division, cisplatin forms cytotoxic intra- and interstrand DNA cross-links, and fluorouracil is a fluoropyrimidine antimetabolite that inhibits thymidylate synthase and disrupts nucleic-acid synthesis. The registered randomized Phase II study compared TPF induction chemotherapy with gemcitabine + cisplatin induction chemotherapy in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
