docetaxel + cisplatin + penpulimab

This combination regimen consists of the taxane docetaxel, the platinum-based chemotherapeutic cisplatin, and the PD-1 inhibitor penpulimab. It is being investigated by Sun Yat-sen University as an induction chemoimmunotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) and maintenance therapy for patients with high-risk locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Penpulimab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets the PD-1 receptor, preventing its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 to restore T-cell antitumor activity. Docetaxel works by stabilizing microtubules, while cisplatin forms DNA cross-links, both leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
