Overview

This is a multi-agent chemotherapy and targeted therapy regimen combining three cytotoxic drugs—docetaxel, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide—with the monoclonal antibody bevacizumab. Docetaxel is a taxane that inhibits microtubule depolymerization, leading to cell cycle arrest. Doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, causing DNA damage. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA strands. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), inhibiting angiogenesis required for tumor growth[6]. This combination has been studied primarily in breast cancer—including early-stage and inflammatory subtypes—as neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy[1][2][4]. The addition of bevacizumab aims to enhance efficacy by disrupting tumor blood supply.
