Overview

Docetaxel + ebastine is an investigational combination therapy currently being studied for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Docetaxel is a microtubule inhibitor that disrupts cell division by stabilizing GDP-bound tubulin in the microtubule, thereby inhibiting mitosis and inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Ebastine is a second-generation H1-receptor antagonist (antihistamine) primarily used to treat allergic rhinitis and urticaria; it blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic symptoms. The rationale for combining these agents in prostate cancer therapy is under investigation, with early-phase clinical trials evaluating efficacy and safety endpoints such as lipid profile changes, PSA response, and progression-free survival[1][3][4].
