Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of docetaxel and mitomycin. Docetaxel is a taxoid antineoplastic agent that binds to microtubules with high affinity, preventing cell division. Mitomycin is an antineoplastic antibiotic that inhibits DNA synthesis through cross-linking DNA strands. The combination has shown synergistic effects in preclinical studies, particularly when combined with capecitabine, as taxanes and mitomycin C can enhance anti-tumor activity through up-regulation of thymidine phosphorylase (TP).
