Drug intelligence / Profile preview
docetaxel + naptumomab estafenatox is a combination therapy under investigation for advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other solid tumors. **Docetaxel** is a well-established taxane chemotherapy that inhibits microtubule depolymerization, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. **Naptumomab estafenatox** is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of a mutated variant of the superantigen staphylococcal enterotoxin E (SEA/E-120) linked to the Fab fragment of an antibody targeting the tumor-associated antigen 5T4. This construct activates and expands specific T cells that recognize SEA/E-120, promoting their infiltration into tumors expressing 5T4[1][9][8]. The combination aims to enhance antitumor activity by combining direct cytotoxic effects with immune activation.
