Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of docetaxel and sodium cantharidinate. Docetaxel is a cytotoxic chemotherapy agent that works by disrupting microtubule function, while sodium cantharidinate is a semi-synthetic derivative of cantharidin extracted from Mylabris. Sodium cantharidinate restricts cell cycle progression from S phase to G/M phase, inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. This combination has been studied as a second-line treatment for advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with wild-type or unknown EGFR status.
