Drug intelligence / Profile preview
docetaxel + thalidomide is a combination chemotherapy and immunomodulatory regimen investigated by the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. This combination pairs docetaxel, a taxane small molecule that stabilizes microtubules to inhibit cell division, with thalidomide, an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) known for its anti-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory properties. The regimen was specifically studied in a Phase I dose-escalation trial using a metronomic (low-dose, frequent) administration of docetaxel to enhance the anti-angiogenic synergy with thalidomide. It was targeted toward patients with advanced solid tumors, multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who had progressed on standard therapies.
