This infusion follows a specific conditioning regimen consisting of Total Lymphoid Irradiation (TLI) and rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin (rATG). The primary therapeutic goal is to establish stable mixed chimerism—a state where donor and recipient immune systems coexist—which allows for the complete withdrawal of maintenance immunosuppressive medications while preventing kidney transplant rejection.
