Overview

HUC3-637 is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution containing dorzolamide and timolol, developed by Huons Co., Ltd. for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Dorzolamide is a potent inhibitor of human carbonic anhydrase II, which reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing the rate of aqueous humor secretion in the ciliary processes of the eye. Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent that lowers intraocular pressure by reducing aqueous humor production. This combination therapy is typically indicated for patients who require additional pressure lowering or who are insufficiently controlled by beta-blocker monotherapy. HUC3-637 is currently being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety profile compared to existing treatments.
