Overview
This drug is a combination of **dotinurad (FYU-981)** and **topiroxostat**, used as a therapeutic strategy for hyperuricemia and gout. **Dotinurad** is a selective urate transporter 1 (URAT1) inhibitor that promotes renal excretion of uric acid, thus lowering serum urate levels[2][3][6][8]. **Topiroxostat** is a non-purine, noncompetitive inhibitor of xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR), thereby reducing the production of uric acid[5]. The combination may be used in experimental and clinical settings to achieve additive or synergistic uric acid lowering by targeting both urate production (topiroxostat) and urate elimination (dotinurad), though fixed-dose commercial products are not widely established.
