Dovitinib + androgen deprivation therapy is a combination treatment investigated for the management of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). Dovitinib is an oral, small molecule pan-receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets several key pathways involved in tumor growth and angiogenesis, including the vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR 1-3), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR 1-3), platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRB), and the mast/stem cell growth factor receptor (KIT). In this specific therapeutic context, dovitinib is combined with standard androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)—which typically consists of LHRH agonists, antagonists, or surgical orchiectomy—to evaluate whether dual inhibition of androgen-dependent signaling and alternative growth factor pathways can prolong the time to castration resistance.
