**Doxazosin + valsartan** is a combination of two antihypertensive agents: doxazosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, and valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Doxazosin works by blocking alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, resulting in vasodilation of veins and arteries, thereby lowering blood pressure and relaxing smooth muscles in the bladder neck and prostate[5][7]. Valsartan blocks the angiotensin II type 1 receptor, inhibiting the effects of angiotensin II, which normally causes vasoconstriction and increased aldosterone secretion[1].
