This multi-agent chemotherapy regimen was developed by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the 'Large Cell Lymphoma Pilot Study III' (NCT00187070). It is a short, intensive, immunophenotype-directed approach designed for children with large-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The regimen consists of twelve active agents, including cytotoxic chemotherapy (doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, ifosfamide, carboplatin, etoposide, vincristine, vinblastine, cytarabine, methotrexate), corticosteroids (dexamethasone, prednisone), and an antibiotic (cotrimoxazole) for infection prophylaxis. The protocol evaluates the feasibility of this intensive combination followed by an intensification phase with hematopoietic stem cell support. The study aimed to improve outcomes in pediatric large cell lymphoma through a highly intensive, multi-targeted pharmacological attack on rapidly dividing malignant cells.
