Overview

Doxorubicin + ginsenoside is a liposomal formulation of the anthracycline chemotherapy agent doxorubicin, utilizing ginsenosides (specifically ginsenoside Rg3) as a functional membrane material. Developed by Xiamen Ginposome Pharmaceutical using their proprietary Ginposome drug delivery system (DDS), this formulation aims to enhance the delivery and therapeutic profile of doxorubicin. Doxorubicin acts by intercalating DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, leading to cell death in rapidly dividing cancer cells. The inclusion of ginsenosides in the liposomal bilayer is intended to improve stability and potentially provide synergistic anti-tumor or cardioprotective effects. While other Ginposome products (such as GF07 and GF11) are in late-stage development, the doxorubicin formulation is currently listed in patent materials with no disclosed clinical phase.
