Overview

A combination therapy consisting of doxorubicin, a cytotoxic anthracycline antibiotic, and interferon alfa-2a, a type I interferon with immunomodulatory properties. This combination has been studied for its potential synergistic antitumor effects, particularly in cervical cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other solid tumors. The mechanism involves doxorubicin's DNA intercalation and generation of reactive oxygen species combined with interferon's immunomodulatory and antiproliferative effects.
