Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Doxorubicin + mitomycin C is a combination chemotherapy regimen that has shown synergistic effects against cancer cells, particularly in breast cancer models. The combination has been studied in various formulations, including as co-loaded polymer-lipid hybrid nanoparticles (DMPLN) which can bypass efflux transporter pumps that confer multidrug resistance. However, the combination has shown significant cardiopulmonary toxicity concerns, particularly when mitomycin C is administered frequently (every 3 weeks).
