Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Envepe is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). It is marketed by RG Pharmaceutica in Pakistan and is specifically indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (morning sickness) in patients who do not respond to conservative management. Doxylamine acts as an antagonist at histamine H1 receptors and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, which helps suppress nausea and vomiting signals in the brain. Pyridoxine serves as an essential cofactor in various metabolic processes and neurotransmitter synthesis, which is thought to synergistically alleviate morning sickness symptoms.
