DPX-RSV(A) is a vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. It utilizes the DepoVax (DPX) oil-based delivery platform to present a peptide antigen derived from the small hydrophobic ectodomain (SHe) protein of RSV-A. Unlike traditional RSV vaccines that target the F or G proteins and rely on neutralizing antibodies, DPX-RSV(A) aims to stimulate an immune response that enables recognition and destruction of infected cells by targeting the SH protein. Clinical studies have shown that it elicits robust and sustained antigen-specific antibody responses in healthy adults, with a favorable safety profile. The vaccine is being developed primarily for high-risk populations such as older adults[1][2][3][5].
