Overview

A combination therapy consisting of dronabinol (a synthetic cannabinoid) and megestrol acetate (a synthetic progestin). This combination has been studied for the treatment of cancer-associated anorexia and cachexia, though clinical trials have shown that the combination does not provide significant additional benefits over megestrol acetate alone. Megestrol acetate works by reducing inflammation and potentially stimulating neuropeptide Y, while dronabinol acts on cannabinoid receptors to stimulate appetite.
