Overview

This is a combination immunization regimen consisting of two vaccines: - **DTaP-HB-IPV** (also known as DTaP-HepB-IPV): A combination vaccine that protects against six diseases—diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, poliomyelitis (polio), and *Haemophilus influenzae* type b. The mechanism of action involves stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against the respective bacterial toxins and viral antigens[4][5]. - **pneumococcal polysaccharide** (commonly PPSV23 or PNEUMOVAX 23): A vaccine containing purified capsular polysaccharides from 23 serotypes of *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. It induces a T-cell independent immune response by promoting antibody production against these serotypes to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease[7][8]. The primary indication for this regimen is active immunization in children and adults to protect against the above diseases.
