Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DTaP-Hib-IPV + MenACWY-CRM refers to the concomitant administration of a pentavalent combination vaccine (targeting diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and inactivated poliovirus) and a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine. This specific immunization regimen was evaluated by Novartis Vaccines in Phase II clinical trials (such as NCT00626327) to assess the safety, immunogenicity, and B-cell memory response of the MenACWY-CRM vaccine (Menveo) when integrated into the standard infant vaccination schedule. Menveo consists of capsular polysaccharides from Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y, each conjugated to a non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin (CRM197) which serves as a carrier protein to enhance T-cell dependent immune responses. The DTaP-Hib-IPV component provides protection against five major pediatric diseases, while the MenACWY-CRM component extends protection to invasive meningococcal disease caused by the four included serogroups.
