Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The duck tembusu virus live vaccine (FX2010-180P strain) is a live attenuated veterinary vaccine developed by Youbang Pharmaceutical for the prevention of Duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV) disease in ducks. The vaccine is based on the FX2010-180P strain, which was derived by serially passaging the virulent DTMUV isolate FX2010 180 times in chicken embryo fibroblasts (CEFs). This attenuation process resulted in 19 amino acid changes, most notably a D120N mutation in the envelope protein that is responsible for the loss of pathogenicity and transmission capability. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and provides long-lasting immunity (over 6 months) against virulent DTMUV strains. It is approved and commercially available in China.
