dulaglutide + glinides

A fixed combination of **dulaglutide** (a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist protein, marketed under Trulicity) and a **glinide-class** oral hypoglycemic agent (meglitinides, such as repaglinide or nateglinide). Dulaglutide works by activating the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor on pancreatic beta cells, increasing insulin secretion, suppressing glucagon, slowing gastric emptying, and reducing appetite. Glinides act by stimulating rapid, short-lived insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells by closing ATP-dependent potassium channels. Both classes are used to lower blood glucose in Type 2 diabetes; this combination is sometimes used in clinical practice to optimize glycemic control in patients inadequately controlled on monotherapy.
