Overview

A combination of duloxetine (an SNRI) and mirtazapine (a NaSSA) used primarily for treatment-resistant depression. This combination works through complementary mechanisms - duloxetine inhibits serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake while mirtazapine acts as an antagonist at presynaptic alpha-2 adrenergic receptors and certain serotonin receptors. The combination may provide enhanced antidepressant effects compared to monotherapy, particularly in treatment-resistant cases.
