Overview

Durvalumab + etoposide + platinum is a chemo-immunotherapy combination regimen being investigated for the treatment of limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). The regimen includes durvalumab (Imfinzi), a human monoclonal antibody that binds to PD-L1 and blocks its interaction with PD-1 and CD80, thereby restoring anti-tumor immune responses. This is combined with etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor, and a platinum-based chemotherapy agent (either cisplatin or carboplatin) which causes DNA damage. In the CONCUR trial led by investigator Qian Chu, this combination is administered as induction therapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy and durvalumab consolidation.
