Overview

Durvalumab + paclitaxel is a combination regimen of two anticancer agents used in the treatment of various malignancies. Durvalumab is a human monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), blocking its interaction with PD-1 and CD80 to enhance antitumor immune responses. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that inhibits cell division by promoting tubulin polymerization and preventing microtubule disassembly, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination has been investigated in several cancers, including endometrial cancer, breast cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and gastric cancer—often as part of multi-agent regimens or for patients not eligible for platinum-based therapies[3][4][6][7].
