Overview

A combination therapy consisting of durvalumab, a PD-L1 inhibitor immunotherapy, and saruparib, a selective PARP1 inhibitor. This combination targets both immune evasion mechanisms and DNA repair pathways in cancer cells. Durvalumab works by blocking the PD-L1 protein on cancer cells, preventing them from evading immune detection. Saruparib selectively inhibits PARP1 with minimal effect on PARP2, causing DNA damage to accumulate in cancer cells. This combination is being investigated for various advanced solid tumors, particularly those with specific genetic mutations.
